Symbology expert Robert Langdon is summoned to a Swiss research center to analyze a mysterious fire-marked sign on the chest of a murdered physicist. There, Langdon discovers the revival of an ancient secret brotherhood: the Illuminati, who have emerged from the shadows to carry out the final phase of a legendary revenge against their most hated enemy: the Catholic Church. Langdon's worst fears are confirmed when the Illuminati announce that they have hidden a bomb in the heart of Vatican City. With the countdown running, Langdon travels to Rome to join forces with Vittoria Vetra, a beautiful and mysterious scientist. The two will embark on a desperate time trial race through the lesser-known corners of the Vatican.
