Cabré-Verdiell, Roser
Ruth has fled. She travels alone to Iowa and stops in a small town called Frankville. He settles in a ronec motel where all kinds of lonely, lost or broken women are staying, with whom he will gradually establish ties. But Ruth can't speak, so she writes to the Hach, the man she left behind, and tries to explain the reasons why she left him. However, she can't be honest with him, because he carries the lie inside. Thus, as he wanders the village and mingles with its inhabitants, he meets such disconcerting characters as Frank, the ice cream maker, leader of a sect called "Radical Frankness", which is committed to absolute sincerity applied to all areas of life.
