For more than a decade, the illustrator Miguel Navia and the writer Óscar Esquivias have been preparing, with artisanal patience, a work with stories and great graphic display about the neighborhoods and streets of Madrid. The title of the project, which in the end has been imposed as definitive, is Book of the Prophets, where the capital of Spain is converted into a new Jerusalem or Babylon, one of those cities where the sacred, the profane, the myth and the the history. This work also recreates and updates biblical themes and symbols, from the creation of the Universe to the Apocalypse, with texts and images that bring these ancestral episodes to the contemporary world, as if the two authors were trying to invent a new Bible.
