Amargosa
Finalista Premio Felipe Trigo 2021
Patrón-Costas, Isolda
When Marta surprises her boyfriend in bed with her best friend, she flees Los Angeles aimlessly. After several hours behind the wheel, her car breaks down in the middle of the desert. Marta walks several kilometers in the sun looking for help. Thus she discovers Amargosa, a hotel-theater that vibrates like a mirage between heat and dust. The place is run by Suzanne, a former Broadway dancer who has been offering a dance show every Saturday for more than forty years. Despite her advanced age, and with her theater in the middle of nowhere, she represents the unshakable faith to continue with a dream.
