Bailar encadenados
pequeña filosofía de la libertad (y sobre los conflictos en el ejercicio de las libertades en tiempos de restricciones ecológicas)
Riechmann, Jorge
For many people, the reduction of human freedom to that caricature of the "freedom to go clubbing" in times of pandemic has been a stimulus to reflect on that basic value that we call freedom. What does freedom mean in a world of multiple determinations, and where -as the moral agents that we are- we are subject to many responsibilities? But on the other hand, aren't we living in a deterministic world, and perhaps we are deceiving ourselves by asking the above questions? In particular, wouldn't recent advances in neuroscience show that freedom is an illusion? Similar questions assail us when we look at the philosophical problem of human freedom, which runs through the entire history of thought. This book tries to show the reality of freedom, while placing it in the difficult context that is ours: the ecological-social crisis (overshoot: we are exceeding the biophysical limits of planet Earth) in the Century of the Great Test.
