Black Water Sister

When Jessamyn Teoh begins to hear a voice in her head, she puts it down to stress. Armed, broke and jobless, she returns to Malaysia with her parents, a country she hasn't seen since she was a child. She soon discovers that her voice is not even her own, but that of her distant grandmother's ghost. In life, the Ah Ma was a spirit medium, the avatar of a mysterious deity known as the Blackwater Sister. Now, she's determined to settle a score with a corporate mogul who has offended the deity, and she's determined that Jess will help her, regardless of her granddaughter's wishes. Drawn into a world of deities, ghosts, and family secrets, Jess discovers that dealing with wayward spirits is dangerous, and that dealing with her grandmother is just as complicated. Especially when Ah Ma tries to pry into her personal life, she threatens to share her secrets with her family and uses her body to commit crimes. As Jess fights to get revenge on her in the name of hers Ah Ma, she will also need to regain control over her own body and destiny, or else the Blackwater Sister will finish her off forever.
