The focus is the point where the rays of light converge. When we say we are focusing on something we are using an optical metaphor to indicate that we are focusing all our interest on it. But a spotlight is also a type of high-power light, which concentrates a lot of intensity at a specific point, and is typically used in theaters or television sets.
