Cómo luché contra ETA
de los años de plomo al caso Faisán
Muñoz López, Pablo
Sala, Antonio
From hero to villain: 30 years of struggle against the armed gang of commissioner Enrique Pamies, "Lleida", who worked under the orders of the PSOE and the PP. "The fight against terrorism involves walking barefoot along a cutting edge. Legality is on one side and illegality on the other. In order to advance, sometimes you have to put your foot on one side and sometimes on the other. It's a lie that only with the rule of law will terrorism be ended. Whoever says otherwise is not being truthful or does not know what they are talking about". This reflection was made by the retired commissioner Enrique Pamies, nicknamed "Lleida", superior chief of the Police of the Basque Country at the time ETA was defeated. He was stationed in that community for thirty years, always in the front line of the fight. The policeman who was forced to retire early by the Faisán case recounts for the first time what he experienced in those decades of blood and heroism, of anguish and tears, of tireless work and very serious personal resignations. The authors do not intend to write the history of the fight against ETA, they do not distribute hero or villain cards, they do not try to convince anyone that Pamies defeated the gang, or that without their work it would never have been achieved... They only guarantee that what here the account happened. At least that's how the protagonist lived it. An unpublished material that will raise hives among some well-thinkers but is necessary to better understand the fight against ETA terrorism that left 3,000 attacks, 864 deaths and more than 7,000 victims.
