Corruptio Optimi
XXIII Premio Francisco García Pavón, 2021
Sierra, Manu
Inspector Alicia Acosta is not going through her best moment. She feels lonely and out of place, with the only shelter from her routines and her full dedication to her work as head of the Homicide Group in Seville. On a personal level, she only has ex-commissioner Atalaya, in addition to her dog, Stoick, and a strange Georgian gorilla, Grugol Mestekhi, with whom she plays chess from time to time. By mistake, she receives the statement of a witness, the trade unionist Victoriano Ferreiro, who apparently collaborates closely with the Economic Crimes Unit in an investigation against the CCOO leadership of Andalusia. An anecdotal fact until a couple of days later they claim the Group for the appearance of a corpse that turns out to be Ferreiro himself. With each step she takes, Ella Acosta seems to sink deeper into the mud, as the tracks point in various directions and she knows that she cannot trust anyone; she not even of her own intuition.
