1720. After the unexpected death of his wife, a devastated Johann Sebastian Bach meets a soprano almost twice his age and they both make the worst of mistakes: falling in love. 1894. During the exhumation of Bach's bones, a mysterious disappearance occurs that unleashes the wrath of a secret society and suspicion of murder. 1955. Despite the opposition of everyone around him, a very young, almost unknown pianist chooses Bach's Goldberg Variations for his recording debut. The pianist is Glenn Gould and the recording will mark the History of Music.
