Dioses de jade y sombra
Moreno-García, Silvia
The Jazz Age is in full swing, but Casiopea Tun is too busy scrubbing floors at her rich grandfather's house to pay attention to the new tunes. She dreams, however, of a life away from her small, dusty town in southern Mexico. A life she can call her own. However, this new life seems as remote as the stars, until the day she finds a curious wooden box in her grandfather's room. She opens it and inadvertently releases the spirit of the Mayan god of death, who asks for her help in order to recover her throne, which is currently in the hands of her traitorous brother. Failure would mean Cassiopeia's death, but success could make her dreams come true. In the company of a strangely seductive god and armed with her wits, Cassiopeia begins her adventure, an odyssey that will take her through the jungles of the Yucatan, the bright lights of Mexico City, and plunge her into the dark depths of the Mayan underworld.
