Seven years after the day of the bombs, Point Reyes can be considered quite a lucky place. The inhabitants are reasonably normal -except for the girl carrying her Siamese brother growing in her stomach- their barter-based economy seems to work, and their resident geniuses can fix most anything that goes wrong. But this situation can be ruined if the inhabitants discover that they are protecting, without knowing it, the man who caused the third world war and the death of millions of people by nuclear radiation.
