El 2 de Mayo
basado en la novela de Galdós
García, José Pablo
Pérez Galdós, Benito
As Napoleon's troops cross Spain, supposedly bound for Portugal, the people check that the French are taking strategic positions to stay and blame it on the King's worth, Manuel Godoy, against whom they mutiny in Aranjuez. There is Gabriel Araceli, who as every week has come to see his girlfriend Inés de Santorcaz, who lives in the home of a priest uncle. Benito Pérez Galdós concluded on March 19 and May 2 in 1873, the novel of the first part of the National Episodes. In it, together with the misfortunes and loves of Gabriel and Inés, intended by another perfidious relative, the assault on Madrid on May 2, 1808 of the French troops of Napoleon Bonaparte is narrated. José Pablo García adapts Galdós's text to the comic on the occasion of the centenary of the death of the great Spanish writer.
