Aster spends the entire year looking forward to the Winter Festival, a gathering of the entire Vanissen family that includes witchcraft challenges and transformations. This year he is especially excited to participate in the Stone Race as a witch. Ariel has darker thoughts than the festival on her mind, like the mysterious witch who visits her in her dreams and claims to know the truth about her past. She is very grateful for everything the Vanissens have done for her. But she still longs for a place that she can truly feel like hers. The festival is a whirlwind of activity and excitement, although nothing goes according to Aster and Ariel's plans.
