El cine musical de Hollywood

El cine musical de Hollywood

Feuer, Jane

Perhaps more than any other film genre, the musical represents the golden age of Hollywood studios. However, until now little has been written about this genre beyond a praise to its nostalgic charms. What this book wants to show is that musicals are not limited to showing us the song or the dance, but are, in fact, dance, song and show. This apparently simple idea provides a new vision, both of the music used in the films and of the key stylistic devices of the same, such as the show within the show, the use of spectators within fiction, dream sequences and trial numbers.
