Milan, 1493: after the death of Lorenzo de' Medici, the winds of war blow in Italy. The French King Charles VIII crosses the Alps to steal the Kingdom of Naples from the Aragonese. In Milan, Ludovico Sforza, the Moor, is regent on behalf of his sickly little nephew. In the midst of these games of power, the novelistic invention appears that confronts Leonardo's genius and the cynicism of Ludovico, lover of the beautiful Cecilia Gallerani, of whom, shortly before, Leonardo has made the famous portrait. The great genius must fulfill the order that Ludovico has given him: a large equestrian statue of his father, Francisco Sforza, an extremely difficult work, because, despite Leonardo's great skill, the casting of such a work in bronze poses several problems. of accomplishment. Suddenly, in the center of the Castle's courtyard, they find a corpse apparently without injuries and without signs of any disease. Leonardo examines the body, and discovers that it is a former student of his who is suspected of being a forger.
