In 1972, the biggest match in chess history was held in Reykjavik. The whole world eagerly awaits the confrontation between the American Bobby Fischer and the Soviet Boris Spassky. With the Icelandic capital turned into a new scene of the Cold War, nobody seems to notice the murder of a young man in a neighborhood cinema. In the police force, only Marion Briem intuits the true importance behind the crime.
