"But... Manel Naher is me!" Who is then the other Manel Naher, the one that covers the front pages of all the newspapers? She is shadowing the protagonist of this story, the real Manel Naher. The dystopian world where Manel lives is governed by the principle of Presence, a system that revolves around your own name: the more thought or pronounced it is, the fuller and longer your life will be. Survive for some, achieve immortality for others; the Presence sets in motion the wheel of this tentacle city. Manel, for her part, would gladly send everything for a walk, except that far away, beyond the skyscrapers, the only thing that exists is the Great Void, a mysterious place from which no one has ever returned.
