El jardín de los espejos

El jardín de los espejos

Ruiz Gutiérrez, Pilar

The conically shaped mountain, different from all those in the valley, holds a treasure inside: the magnetic cave paintings of the caves of El Castillo, created by humans 30,000 years ago, next to the valleys of the river Pas between green mountains , very close to the mythical cave of Altamira. The legends that cross these mountains and their inhabitants come to light in The Garden of Mirrors. Currently, Inés arrives from Madrid with the task of documenting a future film about the life and work of a cursed artist obsessed with cave paintings in the area. He stays in "El jardín del alemán", a rural house closed during the winter months and, in his research, discovers unusual events, apparitions, ancient rituals, clairvoyant witches, lost memories and an unsigned painting. In 1949, Amalia flees from her husband and herself to live in the same house, her world has collapsed and she does not know how to rebuild it. The only way to discover her path is to paint a picture in which a mysterious woman appears, whom no one else has seen. And in 1919, in the same house, the photographer Elisa waits for the return of her lover, one of the participants in the first exploration of the caves of El Castillo that has disappeared in the Great War. Meanwhile, he continues to take photographs, the only thing that has prevented him from falling into despair.
