Menandro

Cnemon is an old, grumpy, grumpy old man who lives locked up on his farm with his daughter alone; even the woman has left him, exasperated, to go and live with the son he had had from a previous marriage. However, chance, always so creepy, makes Sostrat, a young man from a good house, hunting in the lands of the poor man, see the girl and fall madly in love with her. As expected, the old man refuses to give her as a wife; but, after a series of trifles, the squirrel will be punished in a very instructive way. Also known -already in antiquity- as The Misanthrope, this comedy presents the archetype of a haughty and brash character who, through Latin adaptations, ended up influencing Molière's masterpiece.
