El médico de Toledo
el destino de una familia judía perseguida por la Inquisición
Cohen, Matt
Abraham Halevi was born in Toledo at the end of the 16th century. A doctor with deep convictions, he believes in progress, tolerance and coexistence among peoples. After completing his studies in Montpellier, he returns to Toledo, where the wealthy merchant Juan Velázquez calls him to assist his wife in a very complicated delivery. Abraham performs a caesarean section to save her life, something extraordinary at the time. However, his talent as a doctor does not prevent him from suffering from religious intolerance. Juan's brother, Cardinal Rodrigo Velázquez, wants to cleanse the world of Muslim and Jewish heretics, and very soon, Abraham and his companion Gabriela must flee Toledo.
