One morning, an elderly man takes a taxi in the city of Monterrey on his way to Linares, his hometown. The trip will only take a few hours, but the old man talks and doesn't stop, as if all his past were unfolding before him. Thus, the taxi driver and the readers are going to learn the history of a Mexican family of landowners, the Morales Cortés, from the beginning of the 20th century until today. Suddenly, in the flow of words, he appears the friendly face of a wise child who cannot speak, but hears what others do not know or do not want to hear, and is surrounded by bees. They are his allies and the ones who will know how to keep the secrets of the Linares mansion, a place where beautiful and stubborn women live and oranges have a special flavor. Even death is different in Linares, and the man knows it. That's why he travels, talks, remembers...
