El paradís no era això
Batallé, Marta
The Raval building where they live relates Mai, Helena and Santos, three characters from three different generations, each experiencing a personal crisis within a neighborhood where the extremes -people, money, cultures- are they touch. Mai is in her twenties, a vindictive girl, living the precariousness of jobs and relationships with a family drama behind her that oppresses her. Helena, forty years old and with the most conventional and stable situation (partner, children, good wages) sees the life that has been made sink. Santos, an idealistic rock musician who has left behind the best of his career and has settled into a life outside the marijuana cultivation system, in what is no longer a concession. All three unite in their fragility to find a way out of their conflicts with a world that they judge lucidly and where neither the fast pace of the city nor the people who accompany them satisfy them.
