El populismo
cómo las multitudes han sido temidas, manipuladas y seducidas
Perceval, José María
This work aims to find a new paradigm of interpretation about populism, and part of the study of those groups and people who, being part or not of the political elite, allude to the "people" as an element to change the current reality in a given society. It is not a story of the parties that claim the term populist or of the groups, people or speeches that are accused of using "populism." Therefore, it does not seek to define what populism is, but rather what is considered "people" in each different situation since its creation as a "usable fictional entity" until today. It wishes to scrutinize the use that has been made of this theoretical tool for the interpretation of reality, its usefulness to gain access to power or retain it and, finally, the impossibility of avoiding it in a situation where the mechanism of political opinion has been developed through the communication of masses.
