Baghdad, year 2003. The reign of Saddam Hussein has ended. The Americans are in control. And no one is in control. Christopher Henry, a former cop turned military contractor, knows this better than anyone. He's in the country to train a new Iraqi police force, and one of his recruits has just been murdered. With civil authority in shambles and the streets littered with bodies, Chris is the only person in the Green Zone interested in finding out who killed him... and why. Chris's investigation leads him to Sofia, an American-raised Iraqi on the governing council, and then to Nassir, a battle-hardened veteran of Saddam's police force... and perhaps the last real investigator left in the country. Baghdad. United by death but separated by conflicting loyalties, the three must help each other navigate the landscape of post-invasion Iraq in order to hunt down the killers. But do their efforts really serve justice... or a much darker secret plan?
