It is midnight and a fine mist envelops the sleeping city while a fire starts in a building whose flames, slow and invisible, begin to devour what they find. On one of the floors Alice falls asleep while she waits for Matthias, her new love who has not yet made up her mind to talk to her mother, to return. Bastien, the son of another of her neighbors, has spent months trying to reveal something to her that could break her heart, but he can't find the courage to do so. Another type of courage is lacking in Polina, a former classical dancer, unable to accept her body after her motherhood. But both for them and for the rest of the inhabitants of the building, there is no time left: events are about to revolutionize their perspectives, forcing them to make extreme decisions and to discover, at last, that the distances that separate us from others are only exceeded with an absolute love: one who knows no conditions.
