El tercer siglo
20 años de cine contemporáneo
Molina Foix, Vicente
Vicente Molina Foix has always written about cinema, a literary aspect that he has combined throughout his life with poetry, the novel, theatrical texts or film scripts. He also directed two films: "Sagitario" (2001) and "El dios de madera" (2010). His film reviews have appeared in the main magazines and newspapers of our country such as "Film Ideal", "Griffith", "Nuestro cine", "Fotogramas", "Cambio 16", "Tiempo", "El País", "Cinemanía" and "Letras Libres". But as he stated in an interview a few years ago, Molina Foix does not consider himself a mythomaniac or nostalgic for classical filmmakers, but is simply "a writer who goes to the movies very often, in search of pleasures", and who writes then reviews in which he tries to reveal the specific language of cinema and show that world of sensuality hidden in so many films. In "The third century. 20 years of contemporary cinema" we can find the extensive criticisms that have appeared over the last two decades in the magazine "Letras Libres", the author focusing on the cinematographic production of the beginning of this third century that he already treasures great achievements and in which, as Molina Foix himself says, the gods of the cinematographic Olympus have changed.
