The Roman Empire is divided between two emperors: Constantine in the West and his brother-in-law Licinius in the East. However, their agreement is short-lived and mutual distrust and hatred are growing stronger. Their inevitable dispute will only lead to a new and bloody civil war, which will consecrate Constantine as the absolute owner of the Empire. But while within his own family there are tragedies and intrigues that cast a shadow over his figure, the fame of his tenacious adversary, the Expretorian Sextus Martinianus, continues to grow.
