Els germans
Terencio Africano, Publio
Demeas, a staunch defender of the formative virtues of discipline, educates one of his two sons, Ctesiphon, with rigor and severity, while entrusting the other, Æschinus, to his unmarried brother Micio, a Hellenized man, liberal, sensitive and devoted to otium. But it turns out that both wards commit similar mischief, so the old severity proves to be quite ineffective. It is, in short, the work that makes you think about whether the education of young people should be permissive or repressive. And the debate remains open until the end.
