Els nombres en el Nou Testament
Puigdollers, Rodolf
Numbers help us interpret reality. This statement by the author is surprising to us today, in a world not prone to symbology, which has lost contact with oral narration and tends to read quickly and diagonally. However, this is not how we usually approach the Bible: we listen to it slowly through the liturgy, we slowly savor it ... and we end up becoming aware of the symbolic load of some repetitive elements, which connect some episodes with others. It is the case of the numbers: twelve tribes, twelve apostles, twelve doors, twelve angels, twelve stars, twelve baskets of bread, twelve years, twelve legions ... they give food for thought. Rodolfo Puigdollers makes a systematic approach to the meaning of each of the numbers in the New Testament, which has its origin, of course, in the Old Testament. It is not a question of cabal or speculation, but of the understanding of fundamental elements in the culture of the first Christian communities, inheritors of the Jewish tradition.
