Emily eterna

Wheaton, M. G.

Emily is an artificial consciousness designed to help humans process trauma, which is especially useful when the Sun begins to die five billion years earlier than scientists estimated. The human race is doomed, but Emily discovers that the solution could lie in the human genome. "It is dark, too dark for broad daylight. And that is not where the sky should be. The roar of a gale saturates my ears. It is immediately followed by a thunderous crack that makes the earth seem to have just cracked. It gains volume at times, as if all the trees in a forest were being cut down at the same time".
