Endurance
la legendaria expedición de Shackleton
Bustos, Luis
Endurance narrates the odyssey of the imperial Trans-Antarctic expedition commanded by Sir Ernest Shackleton, who in 1915 intended to cross Antarctica by sled for the first time. The 27 men embarked on this challenge were trapped for almost two years in the ice enduring extreme conditions to the limit of their strength. The painful return through the icebergs and the two trips in lifeboats constitute one of the most beautiful tributes to the willpower and courage of the human being. Especially famous would be the launching of the "James Caird", a boat with six crew members that after traveling 1,300 km for seventeen days. in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, he managed to reach the whaling port of Grytviken where Shackleton himself received the necessary help to rescue the rest of his companions.
