Epigramas eróticos griegos
antología palatina (libros V y XII)
VV.AA.
We can trace its origin back to the 8th century BC, when brief inscriptions in verse began to appear engraved on tombstones or commemorative stones and ended up composing, through the centuries, an entire literary genre. But the epigram that specifically summons us here is the one that already in the first century the Latin poet Marcial clearly described as "a brief poetry that ends with a piquant joke". This edition, by Guillermo Galán Vioque and Miguel Ángel Márquez Guerrero, brings together two books from the so-called "Palatine Anthology": book V, made up of erotic epigrams dedicated to women, and book XII, which contains Stratón's own harvest of Sardis -"The Muse of the boys", poems dedicated to ephebes-, along with some others with homoerotic themes.
