The Bible is the most widespread book in history. The events that are narrated in it and the characters that populate its pages have been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Western art. Architecture, painting or sculpture are impregnated with them, from the birth of Christianity to the present day. Would you be able to recognize the facts or characters that appear in the Bible? Do you know the background of the events and their protagonists? Do you know why they are represented this way? This work tries to help identify and understand both aspects by relating them to the different iconographic variants and pointing out curious details about their meaning, the main source being the Bible itself.
