Hermanos de sangre

Hermanos de sangre

de Normandía al Nido del Águila

Ambrose, Stephen E.

This is the classic of military history on which the acclaimed HBO platform series Blood Brothers was based on Company E of the United States Army, one of the units with the most extraordinary trajectory during World War II and which was in the front line during several of the most critical moments of the war. They parachuted into France early on D-Day and destroyed a battery of four 105mm guns firing on Utah Beach; they parachuted into Holland again during the Arnhem campaign; they were the heroes at Bastogne who resisted the German counter-attack during the Battle of the Bulge despite being completely surrounded, and then led the counter-offensive. Finally, they captured Hitler's Bavarian outpost, his Eagle's Nest at Berchtesgaden, and drank his wine. They were tough guys, hit by the Depression. They drank too much, looted what they could, and got into fights with other soldiers. But in the army they became brothers, forging an indestructible camaraderie and learning to sacrifice for each other. They became heroes.
