Mika travels to the lands of Yomi, where the souls of the dead dwell, in search of her deceased best friend Mitsuha. Her companions are a divinity with great interest in human behavior in the face of death and Hibino, an immortal human whose sole purpose is to find her better half. This eccentric group begins their journey by visiting the temples and shrines of Japan, where they encounter all kinds of near-death people. Curiously, all of them share the regrets for not having fulfilled some of their wishes when they still had time. In her journey, Mika recalls her moments with Mitsuha before losing her, while her guilt eats at him... When will they reach that land of the dead to finally be able to reunite with her best friend?
