Historia de Rusia en el siglo XX

Service, Robert

The history of Russia in the 20th century has been profoundly renewed in recent years, especially after the opening of the Soviet archives. New books on the October revolution, the NEP or Stalin have changed and enriched our perception of the facts, in a process to which Professor Robert Service himself has contributed with a biography of Lenin. But what we did not yet have, until this book, was an overview of the evolution of Russia throughout the century, which not only incorporated the findings on the revolution or Stalinism, but also analyzed that other half century much less known that goes from Khrushchov to Yeltsin, which Service shows us in a new light, beyond the clichés of the cold war, in a book that allows us to understand the causes of the failure of perestroika and the collapse of the Soviet system.
