Humo

Humo

Ovejero, José R.

A woman, a boy and a cat live together in a cabin in the middle of the forest, quietly most of the time, since the boy hardly speaks. They have no contact with anyone, except for the visits of a man who brings them supplies from time to time. They are not family, but together they succeed. Outside, nature is becoming unpredictable: the dazzling landscape around the protagonists sometimes takes on sinister overtones. They subsist on what they get from an orchard that bears less and less fruit, and on what they get from the immediate forest. In the distance, in the cities, it seems that there are also strange turbulences, the threat of which is projected on the cabin. José Ovejero introduces us to these lonely characters, without the soul of heroes, and makes us reflect on the meaning of life, the ties that bind us to the people around us and the ability to survive in adverse situations.
