Itinerarios

The texts gathered in this volume present a way of "thinking about cinema" in the midst of reflection on the power of the cinematographic image (1970-1985). In such a way that the reader will come into contact with the ideas with which a theoretician of the stature of Noël Burch faces the great problems that condition the access by the spectator to those objects that we call films. Starting from a "formalism" quickly enriched by a maniacal attention to the meaning of films, combining approaches to geographically distant cinematography with works distant in time, Burch dictates in "Itinerarios" a lesson that retains all its relevance today. He offers us an analytical instrument to be able to exercise a substantive critique of the images that have shaped the imaginary of so many generations, always inspired by a desire to "understand" beyond banal topics and deceptive appearances.
