Little Kambirí travels with her mother from Mali to Europe seeking a better life. Unfortunately, during the journey in a boat, the girl loses her mother. The doctor on the island of Lampedusa, the city where the little girl is taken in, takes charge of her care, while trying to locate Kambirí's father, a search that will take several years.
