L'assassí cec
Atwood, Margaret
Iris Chase, an eighty-two-year-old woman, lives alone and impoverished in Port Ticonderoga, a former feud of her influential family in disgrace. As she faces old age, Iris meditates on her life, especially on the strange circumstances of the death of her sister, Laura, shortly after World War II. Stretching the thread of memory makes the border between the past and the present begin to blur, moving the protagonist -and the reader- to the events that formed the backdrop of his youth: the Great Depression, the two wars world, the dawn of trade union movements and the posthumous publication of The Blind Assassin, the controversial novel attributed to Laura that made her a cult author.
