La abadía de los herejes
Verdú, Eugeni
Limoux, year 1379. After an enigmatic meeting, the Inquisition imprisons without apparent cause the family of a humble carpenter. The couple is methodically interrogated, tortured, prosecuted and condemned for heresy based on skilfully manipulated evidence. Ejean, the eldest son of the couple, after his trip to Toledo and Barcelona, ??returns to his hometown, where he obtains by force the confession of three members of the Court of the Inquisition who condemned his family and confirmed that his brothers were forced to enter as Oblates in the abbey of Sant Miquel de Cuixà. Hoping to find them, Ejean will secretly move to that abbey, where he manages to enter it with the help of a mysterious Benedictine priest. Within those walls he will witness the internal conspiracies in pursuit of The Devil's Legacy, a coded book that prophesies the future until the end of the world. The incessant search for his brothers will finally lead him to reveal the sinister identity of who calls himself the Servant of God and the ultimate reason for the intrigue hatched to assassinate his parents.
