La Gran Armada

In the late summer of 1588, Philip II's Armada, the largest fleet ever built up to then, met with failure between the English Channel and the coasts of Ireland. Geoffrey Parker, one of the most relevant British Hispanists, has analyzed for years a large amount of information from the most important archives in Spain and the Netherlands, and has contrasted it with the discoveries of the wrecks studied by the marine archaeologist Colin Martin. With all this, they achieve a reconstruction of the episode that destroys some myths that have been in force for a long time in Anglo-Saxon historiography.
