Inspired by Don Quixote, the author creates a character, Vicar Adams, who has managed, thanks to the virtues that adorn him, to win the affection of readers of all time despite his eccentricities and his absurd behavior. Although The Story of the Adventures of Joseph Andrews is one of the best introductions to 18th century England, its interest is not exclusively historical, for over time it continues to demonstrate how Fielding created in this novel, illuminating it with his spirit, a own world that is still as alive today as it was more than two centuries ago.
