Kenya, 1926. The view of the stunning landscape that Karen, also known as Tanne, admires from the terrace of her farmhouse reminds her of her lover Denys. They've been apart for months, yet she's not alone. Two hundred Kikuyus families live in her coffee plantation, the house is filled with the laughter of children and people come every day to her makeshift clinic.
