In Greek mythology, the life of heroes (Ulysses, Jason, Theseus, Hercules ...) is almost always an example of heroism, courage and ingenuity. But no book (of which we have news) is dedicated to collecting and analyzing the deaths of these mythical characters in this way: strange, random and surprising deaths, which underline the fragility of the heroic condition. Few grow old, and they often meet their death in ambush, seduced by wicked lovers or cruelly speared by betrayal or hatred.
