La puerta de las estrellas
Rishoi, Ingvild H.
Ten-year-old Ronja has always dreamed of having a Christmas tree. But her father, a kind and tired widower and a victim of alcoholism, can't stay in one job long enough to earn the money to spend on non-essentials. This year it seems that Ronja will finally fulfill his dream, because his father has found a job at the Christmas tree market. But... With this apparently simple and direct story, in which Melissa, the older sister, also plays an important role, the author describes, from Ronja's perspective, a childhood and a family doomed to vulnerability, in which children have to grow up faster than they should, get by without their parents and even take care of them. An exciting and moving book, sad and full of kindness, that does good and hurts, but above all it has you in its clutches from the first to the last page. And before which even those who do not usually cry when reading will find it difficult not to.
