La resquebrajadura
Soler, Jordi (1963- )
There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in, says the verse of a famous song: "There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in". Perhaps, more than a crack, it is a crack, or better, a crack, since this word suggests that something has broken without actually breaking; that this solid thing has a leak through which the darkness comes out so that a portion, even a minimal one, of light can enter. This idea of a Buddhist air that appears in the song Anthem, by Leonard Cohen, tells us, on the one hand, that total darkness does not exist and, on the other, that anything, no matter how solid it seems, always has a crack through which opens to the outside. This crack that all things have, and also all people, serves as an entrance and exit and, moreover, certifies our imperfection. The perfection of a body that did not have a single counterpoint of imperfection would be invaluable; just as darkness would be invisible without a particle of light.
