La tomba de l'Ebre

Carranza, Andreu

When the civil war broke out in 1936, Cinto, a young man from Tortosa about to enter the seminary, was captured by a leader of the FAI-CNT. He happens to imprison the priest archivist, who has all the information about the valuable treasure of Pope Luna and the cathedral of Tortosa. The boyfriend will be part of the treasure's escort, along with an assault guard, Corporal Martínez; Rabosa, a member of the UGT, and Clara, a young anarchist involved in the education of women in the city and a supporter of free love. While they are guarding the treasure, a love and hate triangle begins between Clara, Corporal Martínez and Cinto. The story, through these protagonists, shows the experiences of a city, Tortosa, first in the rear, but which will end up being bombed and destroyed by fascist troops, when the Ebro river becomes the border between the two sides.
