La trilogía de Nueva York
Auster, Paul
"It all started with the wrong number, the phone rang three times in the middle of the night and the voice on the other end asked for someone other than him." Thus begins The Glass City, the first of the three novels that make up The New York Trilogy. Daniel Quinn, a crime writer, is taken by his telephone caller for a detective and tasked with a case. Quinn, far from undoing the misunderstanding, gets into the role assigned to him and finds himself involved in a story full of enigmas, complicated father-child relationships, madness and delirium. In Fantasmas, the second of the pieces, a private detective and the man he has to watch over play hide and seek in a claustrophobic urban universe. Finally, in The Closed Room the protagonist is confronted with the memories of a childhood friend when his wife writes him a letter explaining that her husband has mysteriously disappeared.
